Author Consultations
Do you have a book idea and don’t know where to start? Have you written a book and need to figure out the next steps to publishing it? Have you always dreamed of being an author and seeing your book on the shelves in stores? I’d love to talk with you and help you navigate the sometimes complicated world of book publishing. I can walk you through the basics of book publishing, provide tips based on my own publishing journey, and give you some tools for figuring out your next steps. I provide one hour phone consultations where our conversation will be guided by your needs and questions, and follow-up feedback on your manuscript or book proposal through email.
Who am I? I am the author of three traditionally published children’s books. The first two were published by B&H Kids, a division of Lifeway. The Marvelous Mud House is a true contentment story based on our family trip to Kenya which was nominated for a ECPA Christian Book Award when it released in 2017, and the Triple Crown Award in the Gallery 1-3rd grade category for 2018-2019. The Marvelous Maker is a creation and redemption parable that released in 2020 with B&H Kids and has been translated into Russian and Ukrainian. Both books reached bestseller status in several categories on Amazon in their first year, and together have sold over 20,000 copies. My newest children’s book, If Jesus Came To My School released on June 10, 2025 with Waterbrook Multnomah, a division of Penguin Random House, the largest book publisher in the United States. It has been a #1 New Release in several categories on Amazon since its release and currently has over 60 reviews. I was represented by William K. Jensen Agency for my first book contract, and I am currently represented by Blythe Daniel Agency. I am a highly valued speaker for the past ten years at women’s conferences, parent child retreats, summer camps, and Christian and public schools. You can find my writings at aprilgraney.com.
