As a Christian mom, one of the most significant purchases I felt I could ever make for me and my child was a colorful and engaging children’s Bible. Some of my most precious times with my children when they were very young was sitting with them on my lap before bedtime and reading story after story to them from our favorite children’s Bibles.
Children’s Bibles help us to instill in our children the truths and stories of Scripture from a very young age, before they can even comprehend the great depths of the meanings behind them. Hearing these stories, gives them a fascination and enjoyment in Scripture that they will carry with them as they grow up.
The Beginner’s Bible is a perfect place to start with young children. The stories are brief enough to hold their attention. The illustrations are cute and colorful. The text is engaging and fun. This is really one of my favorite all time children’s Bibles. We have had it for a long time, and this edition is a new release. Probably the most significant part of this Bible for me, is that each story title gives the references where you can find the story in Scripture. Even when the story appears in 3 places, they include each reference. Check it out:
I love this because while children’s Bibles are great and wonderful, they are not a replacement for reading the actual text of the Bible. As your child grows, looking up the stories they have heard before and loved and reading them in the Biblical account can be powerful.
